The Heritage Huskies closed out October under the Friday night lights with a tough matchup against their cross-town rivals, the Wake Forest Cougars. Despite solid defensive moments and flashes of offensive rhythm, Heritage came up short, losing 3–24 on October 31. (MaxPreps)

The Huskies managed 169 total yards—81 rushing and 46 receiving—but struggled to convert drives into touchdowns. They trailed by just one score midway through the third quarter before Wake Forest’s late surge widened the gap. The defensive line held firm early, forcing several stops, but the Cougars’ consistent ground attack ultimately proved too much to contain.

With the loss, Heritage’s record stands at 4–7, marking a challenging season defined by determination and growing chemistry among younger players. Head Coach and staff are expected to focus on red zone efficiency and turnover control as the team looks toward offseason conditioning and next year’s campaign.

For the Wake Forest community, the rivalry matchup once again showcased the pride and passion local fans bring each fall Friday night. As the Huskies regroup and rebuild, they’ll carry those lessons—and the town’s support—into the next season.
